Questions
The things people actually ask.
If yours is not here, call us - we would rather answer it properly than have you guess.
Do I need an NDIS plan to use Anne's Angels?
No. We are a registered NDIS provider, but we also work with private clients and with people funded through other arrangements. If you are not sure what applies to you, call us - a ten-minute conversation usually sorts it out.
What is the difference between SDA and SIL?
SDA is the building - purpose-built, accessible housing funded under Capital Supports. SIL is the support delivered inside it, funded under Core Supports. They are funded separately under the NDIS, but in our homes both come from us: if you live in a home we support, our own team delivers the SIL inside it.
Who provides the support if I move into one of your homes?
We do. If you live in a home we support, our own team delivers the SIL inside it rather than an outside provider you bring in - one team responsible for both the building and the day-to-day care. If you have a support worker you wish to use, please speak with management and we will try and accommodate this for you.
How quickly can support start?
For in-home support and community participation, often within a week once we have met and agreed a schedule. For SDA and SIL it depends on vacancy and on getting the household match right, which is worth not rushing. Call us and we will tell you honestly where things stand.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Highfields and support participants across Toowoomba and the Darling Downs, including Crows Nest, Cabarlah and Meringandan. If you are just outside that, ask - we will tell you if we can do it properly.
Will I have the same support worker each time?
That is the goal, and we build rosters to protect it. You will have a small, consistent team rather than whoever is available, and anyone new is introduced properly before their first shift on their own.
What if a support worker isn't the right fit?
Tell us early and we will change it, without awkwardness. Matching is not an exact science and it is entirely reasonable for you to want someone different. Choice and control is not just a phrase in the legislation.
Are your staff qualified and screened?
Yes. All staff hold NDIS Worker Screening clearances and complete the NDIS Worker Orientation Module, with current first aid, CPR and relevant qualifications. Ongoing training is part of the job, not an extra.
Do you provide support overnight or on weekends?
Yes. Sleepovers, active overnight support and onsite overnight assistance are all available depending on your plan, as is weekend support. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, but our support is not limited to them.
How do I make a complaint or give feedback?
Speak to Anne directly, or email anne@annesangels.au. Every complaint is recorded and responded to. You can also contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission at any time on 1800 035 544 - we will never discourage that, and we will help you do it if you want.
